  • Open your browser and go to the next step.
  • Go to the password recovery page at https://account.live.com/password/reset

  • If you choose the first option “I forgot my password”, you will be asked to enter your Skype ID, phone number or username. Then type the captcha correctly and click Next to complete the process.
  • If you choose the second option “I know my password, but I cannot log in”, you will see a tip, read it and make sure you have tried it. Again, you will be asked to provide your Skype email, phone number, or username details. Do you see a captcha? Fill it out correctly. Click on “Next” and follow the instructions below.
  • If you choose the third option “I think someone else is using my Microsoft account”, you will be asked to select a reason from the drop-down menu. Although this is optional. Provide details about your Skype email id, phone number or username. Enter the captcha correctly; click “New” if you can’t get it. You can also listen to the captcha by clicking on the “Audio” button. Continue to complete the password reset process.
  • Please continue to change your password frequently if you wish to protect your account from unauthorized access. If you used the same password with any other service (which most users do), change it. We also recommend that you change the password for Skype and other MSN-related services.
